I'm not using system76 customisations either and network, wifi, audio, webcam works out of the box. I'm not using ubuntu or mint but I believe both are more liberal with extra kernel modules than...
It's not that you accidentally pushed the disable touchpad button is it? It happened to me a few times before I realised what was wrong... :)
I ordered one living in sweden. It works fine, but you might have to pay sales tax twice, which for me turned out to be a lot more expensive than the shipping. Not sure what the sales tax is in...
I'm suprised ntpd doesn't set the correct time automatically. You can try to run `hwclock --systohc` to set the bios time. `hwclock` will also tell you current bios time if that is of interest.
I'm still using it and have not noticed any problems yet. However, It still downclocks.
I tried to play with some i915 module parameters but without success. Have no more ideas right now...
The frequency reported through the sys/class/... seems to be the same as requested frequency in intel-gpu-overlay, so most likely I was wrong about what the frequency was before.
Installing intel-gpu-overlay caused my gpu frequency to drop to 200. I can cause it to go up while on ac by moving windows around and stuff like that, but on battery it stays on 200 now. Might be...
Do you get the frequency from /sys/class/drm/card0/gt_cur_freq_mhz ? Mine doesn't go down when on battery for some reason. Not sure if that is good or bad since I rarely do graphic intensive...
I had the same issue, i7z reporting max 1.3 while on battery, even under load. I fixed it by enabling intel_pstate module. Now it goes up to 3 on battery and under load, and as a bonus it seems my...
I had problems booting from a USB drive by setting boot priorities. It worked better for me to use the one time boot menu. Worth a try if you are currently changing priorities.
Yes, it should be noted that I'm not using ubuntu and so have not installed the system 76 driver, so when I say I haven't had any problems please take that into account. If there is interest in any...
I used a usb stick with freedos and the contents of New_FW.zip on it. The exact instructions are in the zip, so
I found it helpful to have them open on a second computer. I had no prior experience...
I recently updated with the New_FW.zip in the link given by Toniob to be able to UEFI boot. Have not noticed any problems.
