thank you u-slayer. +1 to you buddy
You ever figure this out? Because I would be interested in changing it myself.
thank you so much, you rock DarkDead
I took your advice. It works, most of the time. Sometimes I can get fullscreen and other times not. Not sure why, but thanks.
I get this error. For my setup I'm guessing that the softreset is referring to a command the OS sends to my USB hard drive for starting. I leave my external drive plugged into my power strip and then...
haha, i just tried that for fun and my computer went to the screensaver and fell asleep
maybe. find out what the physical hardware for your wireless is, and then look around and see if anyone else has had a similar problem
if you look around in package manager, there should be an on-screen keyboard. I believe there's one called with Orca with the accessability options. Anyways, look and I think that there is a button...
I have a feeling that you shouldn't feed your computer juice. They prefer human sacrifices rather.
Do you even get the grub boot loader? I believe that you need to edit the location where it's searching for the OS.
If you can't even see the grub loader, then you need to change your boot order...
I am trying to do remote desktop but I don't want to download every client to find the best one. I already use vinagre but what else is there?
Thank you so much
So I changed the kernel, just by clicking on the old one in GRUB when it loads up. Everything works fine. I have to say, leave them kernels alone for now. I think that virtualbox was the problem....
Just look on google for "how to compile a custom kernel in ubuntu"
Well for anyone still following this:
I don't think it's the kernel anymore. I did this by performing a very easy task...
I started up and selected to use the generic kernel.
No problems.
I'm...
So this is gonna probably upset who ever gets the same problem as me, but I really think that I brought this one myself by doing the manual install of the driver. I also have really wanted to use...
Lolz, I could do that... give me a few hours to get out of class ;)
Ah ha, my entire logic behind blaming VirtualBox was simply because I didn't have the problem before it! So I don't know what has fixed my problem. Go figure.
You know, the more I look into this, the more the virtualbox thing makes no sense. And I don't remember doing anything to it. This is probably related to me changing the kernel. I'm gonna look for a...
See that's the problem. I woke up and found that I had jotted that down on a post-it right before I fell asleep. I wrote "The problem is virtualbox." And it's funny because that was suppose to remind...
Hmm, I'm considering a reinstall of ubuntu. Because this is just too much and nothing's working :(
Thanks Russ. I'm gonna go to bed before I do this and work on it tomorrow morning. I'm really good with messing things up more than they should be right before I fall asleep, you I think I'm gonna...
Yeah I have them both.
This is what's happening here.
I go and click install drivers. It installs them now [so thank you both] however, I restart and as the computer boots ubuntu [right after the...
I would almost suggest that you do some personal tests to find out exactly what makes the hard drive freak out. Transfer small stuff like I did and see how much you can do.
