[all variants] Deltabackup to unnetworked drive

    I'm in the following situation:

I have a dataset on a local drive, which is about 1.25TB at this moment. It's a collection of files I want to have backed up offsite. Normally you'd think rsync or...

[all variants] Re: Sync iPod ratings with gtkpod?

Thanks for the info! Some more question though: with Songbird, do you actually need to use those playlists (I normally don't)? And do you know of a way to backup the Songbird library, so that I could...

[all variants] Re: Sync iPod ratings with gtkpod?

Ha, nice to see I'm not the only one!

BTW, I just discovered your other thread: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=898952
It looks things have changed since then?

    I'd in fact prefer it...

[all variants] Re: Bash: run at most 4 instances of script

Even if the ffmpeg in the repo's has x264, it still is a way old version, and it doesn't have the ALAC encoder yet (which is new since late september) with which I wanted to experiment for a bit.

[all variants] Re: Bash: run at most 4 instances of script

Adding the & at the end of the wine ffmpeg.exe line results in ffmpeg taking that & and not knowing what to do exiting. Adding it after wine and before ffmpeg doesnt work either and adding is at the...

[all variants] Re: Bash: run at most 4 instances of script

Thanks, but it doesn't work. It launches only one instance of ffmpeg, and keeps only one instance active, as if the wait_for_less_than routine weren't there.

[all variants] Re: Bash: run at most 4 instances of script

That's what I though, but ffmpeg.exe does show up (seperately) in the process list of system monitor. wine does not.

[all variants] Re: Bash: run at most 4 instances of script

Thanks again, but it doesn't work. When I start the script, it only runs one instance of ffmpeg, not up to 4.

And I use a current win32 compile because it has stuff like x264, faac, and the new...

[all variants] Re: Bash: run at most 4 instances of script

Thanks, but it wouldn't quite work yet.

What I have is a script that converts all video's in a certain folder. If I'd run that script multiple times, I'd imagine I'd convert the video's multiple...

I've got a script that convert video's to a format that I can put on my iPod. I use ffmpeg, and I pass the option -threads 4 (I have a quadcore cpu), but it still only uses 2 cpu's. Now, I was...

[all variants] Sync iPod ratings with gtkpod?

I'm seeing if I can somehow synchronize the ratings I gave to songs on my iPod to the songs on my PC and vice versa. As there's no real standard to save these ratings in tags, I wonder if gtkpod (or...

    Re: Mafia

That's the bad thing with wine, some versions work, and the next one breaks all of a sudden. I wish wine had a Cedega-like option to run multiple versions at the same time.

There's a beta installer for all Serious Sam games. They're betas, so things may, may not work.

    See seriouszone.com for the installers.

    Re: Gimp AND RAW images

Thing is you can't do as much with folders and filenames as you can with tags. Tags allow you to make different queries each time, while folders allow you only one way of viewing.

I would say that nondestructive adjustment layers are a _very_ usefull feature. They make life so much better, it's a shame the Gimp hasn't have this yet.

Do any of you use Raw Therapee ( http://rawtherapee.com )? I find it works much much better for those typical raw edits you want to do than the Gimp.
