    [SOLVED] Re: Live CD crashes

I am getting exactly the same as you do. I only wanted to see if 11.10 would let my PC run Unity as 11.04 never has.
Guess I will stick with 11.04 then.

[ubuntu] Re: Can I downgrade from 11.04, to 10.10?

I also intend to go back to Ubuntu 10.10. Tried 11.04 and have to use Gnome classic as I have a modern graphics card and Unity does not work. My microphone stopped working and it worked fine before...

[all variants] Re: HOW TO Set Up the Bamboo Pen & Touch in Lucid

Thought that I should post what I ended up doing to get the Bamboo working again. This may seem very simple to many of you but it is written by a complete novice, for another novice to follow.

[all variants] Re: HOW TO Set Up the Bamboo Pen & Touch in Lucid

I have now done the PPA from Martin Owens and told the PC to re-install the files from his PPA.
It has worked! The Bamboo is now working, not quite the same as before, but the wife tells me that...

[all variants] Re: HOW TO Set Up the Bamboo Pen & Touch in Lucid

I did look at the Martin Owens PPA, but am not sure what a PPA is. It is late at night here now, so in the morning I'll get on the wifes PC and see if I can follow the instructions that he gives....

Favux, Thank you once again for being patient and trying to explain things to me, but I think that you may overestimate my competence a little.

That was a very quick answer, thank you.
I fear that I must now start to do some learning so that I understand what you are telling me!

[all variants] Re: HOW TO Set Up the Bamboo Pen & Touch in Lucid

I am going to ask a really simple question here. I hope that there is a simple answer as I am not too clever with Ubuntu.
My wife has been using her PC with Ubuntu 10.04 64 bit for a while now. She...

OK Sikander, missed that in my excitement to try and use the terminal. I have now verified that the .iso image did not have the correct MD5 check number as is posted on the internet. I have...

[ubuntu] Re: Boot from 10.10 live CD

No raid setup - I don't know how to do that :(
There are 4 SATA sockets on the board and it is a K9N neo ver3, that is what it says on the board anyway. I think it is a duff CD as in my last post.

[ubuntu] Re: Major Bootloader problem with Ubuntu 10.10

This is worrying. I am still with 9.10 due to the dual boot problems that 10.04 had. I have just downloaded the 10.10 CD and it won't even run on my computer as a live CD!
    Perhaps I should just not...
