According to the WINE AppDB results here, it works with most things, except that it loads slowly and units and buildings are invisible, which in my opinion makes it unplaybale.

Your specs are really good, the only thing I can think of is that addons could be slowing it down, or that it needs to load alot, so maybe try lowering the video settings significantly, and posting...

You can always use Virtualbox though, play through a Virtual desktop basically, works for many games, just that DX9 might be a slight problems.
