If you boot off an Ubuntu CD or USB and follow the install prompts it should recognize Windows and give you the option to install without affecting Windows.
The downloads are still there. Just go to the homepage for the program and click to the downloads page.
YouTube just started working normally for me, and I've heard from a couple of other Linux users that it's working for them too. Looks like YOuTube might be working it out.
YouTube just rolled out a new user interface - I suspect that is the source of all our issues. It is working with https for me.
My son reports that YouTube is working for him again. Must just be a YouTube glitch.
I came to report this same problem. Everything works fine on my desktop but my son's PC can't get any YouTube video to load at YouTube.com. Bizarrely, some YouTubes videos embedded at my blog work...
In my experience, if your chipset is supported, wireless will just work out of the box. If not, quite frankly it's a lot easier to spend $40 on a USB wireless card that will just work. Try googling...
Disable Compiz and see how it behaves. If it keeps crashing then we know Compiz is not the problem. It it stops Compiz you just solved your problem.
My wife teaches 3 year olds and was complaining about the lack of age appropriate software on the PC in her classroom. I showed her Edubuntu and she loves it, so I'm going to make her a LiveUSB so...
Without telnet or ftp access to the remote server I think Lynx is probably the best way you have to navigate the directory structure of the remote web site.
It sounds like you might have accidentally deleted something important when you "cleared stuff out". Is your home directory in a separate partition? If so, I'd just reinstall since you can do so...
Do you have a firewall activated in Ubuntu that could be blocking the attachments?
I'd look at your power management options first. Turn then all off. If the problem goes away you've likely identified the source of the problem. Then play with the sleep / hibernate settings to see...

I keep editing URL:keyword back to the default (Google) and when I close and reopen Firefox it is back to Bing. I have disabled the Ubuntu Add-On for Firefox, so it's not some backroom deal between...
In the last couple of days Chrome has started with an annoying clicking sound anytime I click on of the navigation menu buttons. I think this may have started with the upgrade to Chrome 5. I can't...
Is file sharing enabled on the both computers? Right click on the folder(s) you want to share and select 'sharing.' You should not need either Samba or NFS for sharing files between 2 Ubuntu boxes.
The Facebook advanced uploader is Java. Do you have Java installed?
My Ipod (Gen 1 mini) has always just worked, no problems. last week I did a clean install of 9.04 after I gave up waiting for a fix on 9.10 killing suspend/resume on my laptop. Now I can't get the...
Picasa would do it too, as would any number of web apps.
I do some freelance web work on the side, and my last few projects were 100% Linux. Wordpress hosted on Linux, images manipulated in Gimp, coding in Gedit, contracts and proposals in Open Office....
If IBM has packaged it for Ubuntu I would imagine is trustworthy. However, if you just need Office 07 compatibility what is wrong with Open Office?
Yeah - I'm looking forward to that too! In the meantime, if you just want to back up your Tomboy notes online you can use grsync and a free Backpack account. It's not the prettiest solution, but it...
