Hi--
Originally thought this was a MythTV issue (and had posted it HERE) but it now seems like it's a Jaunty issue.
When I upgraded my MythTV box to Jaunty the video playback was too fast....
Update: Got frustrated trying things, and did a fresh install of Jaunty...and...the problem persists! Now I really don't have any idea what gives.
Fresh install of Jaunty.
Installed codecs to...
Hmmm...this solution DID NOT work for me...still have the chipmunks....
Update: I think I was mistaken on this being just a Myth issue...playing back some mpeg files with other players on that computer has the characters giving the same chipmunk sound...so perhaps it's...
Had a MythTV setup running, with everything working fine.
Upgraded (using Update Manager) to 9.04.
Upgrade went smoothly, no errors, and everything works--BUT...
When playing back recordings...
Hmmm...that's a surprise. Wonder why it's working on the one desktop install I have, but not for some of you? (Really expected this to be a server-install only issue).
Looks like it's fixed...
bump--have had the same issues now for a number of days--but only on one of my ubuntu systems (I have 4 running). Strange.
Update:
Started to track this down. Have two systems running Gutsy...
This solution worked for me...very frustrating behavior.
Thanks!

If I change a sound from a theme (say the "minimize window" sound) from "Default" to anything else...
I can click the little play arrow and the sound will play--BUT--
It doesn't...
Agreed...can't seem to change the sound preference for any custom sounds...was able to install the sound theme from medibuntu but things like mail notification, error sounds, etc. that can be...
Still having this issue, and have not yet found a solution. Anyone have any thoughts?
Have a Dell B120 laptop. Was running Gutsy (everything working fine) and upgraded to Hardy...
Wireless didn't work (found a fix) but the current problem is the screen changing the brightness by...
I'm getting the same issue with a Dell B120--fine in Gutsy--upgrade to Hardy and now the screen changes brightness on its own (with the popping sound). VERY annoying.
This thread worked for me and got my Broadcom/NDISWrapper working:

Look for the Hardy fix (almost at the end)

Try putting a symbolic link to opt from you home directory:
ln -s /opt ./opt
I installed it to /opt, but had to put a symbolic link to there from my home directory:
ln -s /opt ./opt
Same thing here...have loaded WOW following the tutorials...after playing the intro movie, it cuts out and drops me to the desktop.
Same thing whether I run launcher.exe or wow.exe
Any ideas?

Any idea how to exit full screen mode in tsclient?
