[ubuntu] Re: i have no sound on websites

Are you using the Firefox 3 Beta?
I had that same problem, I just reverted to 2.

Try that and see if it fixes your problem.
  3. Re: Why are so many using Ubuntu codenames?

I think it's just easier to put "Hardy" rather than "8.04."

I use it because it's just easier to type. :P

    [ubuntu] Re: updates notifications...

It should tell you in the update manager.

Look at the bottom, it should have an option to show update notes.

    [ubuntu] Re: wide screen resolution?

Do you have a widescreen monitor?
If so, its probably the reccommended resolution because that might be the highest native resolution your monitor has.

[ubuntu] Re: Linkstation live and Ubuntu

Also, try disconnecting it then reconnecting it, open a terminal and type dmesg to see if ubuntu sees the drive. It should come up in the last ten lines or so.

[ubuntu] Re: Linkstation live and Ubuntu

So, you can play mp3's with the device, but you can't view the file?

    Re: Music Players

Rythmbox does the job for me.

My ipod runs Linux as well too, because I think the ogg format is 1337.

Re: Windows and Linux - GET THE FACTS!

I think I just peed myself from laughing at that.

I go to a high school that just switched from Windows Server to Ubuntu Server for the school website. I actually have to work with them, and it...

Re: Just curious... PS3 or XBOX 360?

That's my biggest point. It's ridiculous on how expensive it is just to play with your friends online. 60 bucks a year? Thats 2 strips of ram. That means about 4 years of online play can be about 8...

Just curious... PS3 or XBOX 360?

    So, what do you think?

I'm totally for the PS3. Multi-format media playback and insane graphics with 1080p is perfect for me.

    Amen to that.

I've been using about 28742349 techniques for many things like sweep picking, pinch harmonics, pentatonic scales, and many many more things.

Re: Portable Mp3 Player -- What do you use?

I prefer to use the Sansa Express.
It has 2G of flash storage and can be used almost exactly like a flash drive by design. When plugged in, it is opened as a drive for drag-n-drop file managing....
