    [ubuntu] Re: Microphone muted

    I've also got the same exact problem, on a Dell Studio 15n with 8.10.

    # lspci | grep -i audio

    [all variants] Re: .mkv files

    Yep, I also highly recommend mplayer for mkv files.
  3. Re: HOWTO: Rip DVDs in MPEG-4 AVC (x264), multi audio, subtitles, Matroska

    Wooo figured it out!

    I had "88dct" instead of "8x8dct". Dumb cut and paste screwed me!
  4. Re: HOWTO: Rip DVDs in MPEG-4 AVC (x264), multi audio, subtitles, Matroska

    I'm getting the "The selected video_out device is incompatible with this codec" error. :(

    The first pass is fine, but it fails on the second pass.

    [ubuntu] Re: choppy hd movie (.mkv) playback on laptop

    It's not your hardware -- I can play HD mkv movies on my laptop with a Core Duo T2400 @ 1.83 ghz and a Radeon X1400, and only 1/3rd of your ram.

    Is it just one movie or every one you try?

    [ubuntu] Re: Skype icon with dark background

    That seems to be a bug in Skype, I think. Mine tends to become the icon the right of it.

    Re: Bash scripting question

    Ok, I changed my script to:

    #!/bin/bash

    ftp="/usr/bin/ncftpput -u user -p password server /public/logbook/"
    DIR="/home/dan/.xchat2/xchatlogs/Gamesurge"...

    No, I know that. I want to seperate my root directory from /home. They are currently on the same partition.

    A dynamic amount of files in C++?

    I'm trying to figure out a way to take any given amount of CSV files and combine them into one, retaining the order -- for example, if there were 3 files, my combined file would be:...
  15. Re: I can't figure out why this is segfaulting for the life of me (C++)

    Thanks everyone, that'll be handy next time.

    Before I checked this thread again, I noticed that my last two else-if statements were redundant, removed them, and now it runs just fine.
  16. Re: I can't figure out why this is segfaulting for the life of me (C++)

    Thanks for the quick replies.

    I'm a little confused about using GDB -- can either of you recommend a guide for it?
  17. I can't figure out why this is segfaulting for the life of me (C++)

    For one of my astronomy professors, I'm writing a small program in C++ that takes a whole bunch of data points from satellites and formats them into something ArcMap (GIS software) can use. There...
  18. Re: A few questions about pointers and dynamic arrays (in C++)

    Thanks! It gets past that with no crashes now, but crashes later on. I'm going to see if I can figure it out myself before asking for help again.

    Just one question, though -- am I going to have...

    Re: Have you ever done this ?

    I'm not sure -- but I'm in WinXP right now on my laptop, so if you make a simple hello world type program and upload it, I'll see if I can run it.
