    I have this exact same problem here. And it seems to be random.
    Always I start Ubuntu I need to unplug and plug again the USB dongle several times. Eventually it works in one of the attempts. But...

    Hi. I had the same problem with the same version of Ubuntu. The reason was the version of the kernel. One of the automatic updates installed the 386 serie of the kernel instead of the generic.
