    [lubuntu] Re: Gnome shell slooooooow...

Why did you install gnome shell?
The whole point of Lubuntu is that it is light and fast - a large part of this is that it uses LXDE for the desktop rather than gnome.
You don't need gnome shell to...

Re: Lubuntu - One Stop Thread

I cured the problem of having two xscreensavers by doing this:

Open /etc/xdg/lxsession/Lubuntu/autostart using leafpad as root

delete the line @xscreensaver, and save the file.

    Create a file...

[lubuntu] Re: How to Autostart apps in Lubuntu

Isn't it easier just to copy the file of the application you want to start automatically from /usr/share/applications to home/username/.config/autostart/ ?
That's what I did for skype, worked fine....

    Hi
    I am running Lubuntu 11.10 on my 2nd laptop - a Toshiba Satellite l30-101 with a 1.4Ghz celeron and a whopping 431MB of RAM.
It runs really well, very snappy. Faster than Ubuntu/Xubuntu/XP any...

    Truly excellent work!
Any chance of some screenshots just to see what can be done?
I was thinking of trying to use LXDE but opted for straight Xubuntu in the end.
