How is the syncing working for you? I like how SpiderOak can pull from different directories, but I don't think I have something right with KeepNote sync.
Are you still using KeepNote? If so, I'd be interested in how you are syncing between computers. I'm trying out SpiderOak, but somehow I don't think I should be syncing the SQLite indexes
Note - worked fine - with 2nd boot with no changes - thanks !!!!!
Thanks for the information. Does feel like on a promising track, but of course it didn't work the first time.
Running XP with...
Somehow, recently, I've lost the ability to boot from a USB drive on my desktop. I was running 11.04 just fine and then one day when I booted up my PC with the USB connected, the PC ran forever...
I'm trying to install KeepNote, which does not seem to be included in the software center.
I've tried the three commands for ubuntu from the Keepnote website adding "sudo" before them:...

If you have a 11.04 install DVD, just redo. Also if you have an .iso perhaps you could install that, I'm not sure.
My laptop seems to be fine on 11.10, but you're ahead of me on my desktop. I...
You're situation may be different, but just in case, you might glance at this tread where someone helped me resolved my issue with my 11.10 USB boot system that could not write to to NTFS drives....
I had the touchpad issue in both 11.04 and 11.10. This solved it for me with my Acer Aspire Windows 7 laptop running 11.10 from a USB stick:

I have a windows 7, Acer Aspire 7741Z laptop running ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 from USB sticks.

Perhaps linux may be harder to compromise unintentionally, but seems like any additional programs or addons that we install could do bad things if they wanted to.
For example, when installing...
Note to self: Look into clonezilla or some other way to create a working copy of my ubuntu USB boot thumb drive. It doesn't have to fail, I could misplace it.
When going to new versions, I think...
I've only tried twice on my desktop, Compaq XP Presario and while 11.04 works fine (in classic mode), 11.10 does not. 11.10 is working on my Windows 7 Acer Laptop. Might be a driver issue on the...
I'm sure that 11.10 fixed issues for some and created issues for others. Might scan the messages and I've had good luck keeping one USB stick with 11.04 and another with 11.10 until I'm satisfied.

There is a warning to only install addons we trust (as opposed to work). How do we determine trustworthy addons? For example, I found one to help follow-up on Thunderbird emails which sounds neat,...
Someplace I I think I read that fragmentation is not a problem with ubuntu. Is this universal with ubuntu or does the type of disk format effect the fragmentation? Or I incorrect on the...
Thanks for the post. I have one USB stick with 11.04 and one with 11.10, so for now, I'm OK, but would like to sometime get back to only having to maintain 1.
I'll keep doing updates to the...
I have an issue, referred to earlier, with ubuntu 11.04 and 11.10 on my Acer Aspire laptop touchpad where the right edge scroll does not work. However, there may be hope.
