I've noticed no Sony hardware is part of the Ubuntu-certified hardware list. Does anybody know why?
Sony Vaios are popular and it would be great to include testing on these machine's. I'm the...
Hi, thanks for this interesting info. What Ubuntu version are you using and are you using 32-bit or 64-bit OS?
Hello Spitfire777,
I feel your pain man. I'm currently having similar issues on my setup, my Vaio's CPU seems to run extremely hot and the fan speed control is bonked up, plus my Canon Pixma...
Today is a good day. Not sure what happened, but the printer drivers "kicked-in". The printer is working fine now.

Thanks for this information. Are you running a 64-bit system or 32-bit?
Same here, I had this problem on 10.10 (LinuxMint 10) as well. But I don't think it has to do with the battery running low, since for me it happened even with the battery fully charged. I don't see...
Today the printer drivers kicked-in or something since all of a sudden I have a working printer. Not sure what made it work though.

Thanks for the post with the build script. This helped me fix the disappearing applet on the panel.
Thanks so much for posting how to compile the Alsa driver. This works on VPC-EB2Z1E.
The disc works fine now after burning it with Xfburn on the lowest speed, with speedburn off and in TAO mode.
I have similar issues with disc iso: the disc is unusable.
Downloaded the iso through Torrent from the official source and did a md5 checksum which came out ok.
Tried burning it with different...
