Oldfred, I found out quite by accident late last evening that the files I was claiming do not exist on my machine are definitely there so I can't have been looking in the right folders at the onset....

This problem may be related or mplayer may have simply changed. Before I always used mplayer to play mp3s, as I dislike all the players that load my whole music list and often show the wrong album...
