I had the same issue. What worked for me, considering that I already had the key was:
sudo rm -f /var/lib/apt/lists/partial/*
It's all smoothie fluffy now.
I tried to repair the packages it said:
W: Ignoring Provides line with DepCompareOp for package libva
I then uninstalled vlc and exaile (i think it uses that library too..?)....
You would not have anything on your screen if your OS couldn't communicate with your graphic card. So no worries on that.
Drop us the exact error message.
I actually found a way to get around this pb. Emerald was in conflict with GTK window decorator. Installing "fusion" for compiz, permits me to force the use of emerald. Now I don't even need to start...
Since I moved to 8.04 I got this issue:
Like many I tried to change the look of my windows decoration. So first thing I did, as on edgy, feisty and gutsy, was to install Emerald.
Sorry my mistake, I needed ntfs packages......:-\"
And Gparted is in "System tools" menu....... ](*,)
You did your job perfeclty :)
Perfectly installed on my Feisty. Thanks for your work!
Unfortunately, I was hoping this version would be able to format my external hard disk in NTFS. It's not that it doesn't work, it's...
|#|???|ERR|*||300|???|ERR|*||=|???|ERR|*||every|?? ?|ERR|*||5|???|ERR|*||minutes|???|ERR|*||/dev/hdc|WDC WD800JB-00ETA0|34|C||/dev/sda|WDC
Seeing this, there's no doubt in my point of view, grab...
Sure I can:
# Defaults for hddtemp initscript (/etc/init.d/hddtemp)
# This is a POSIX shell fragment
# [automatically edited by postinst, do not change line format ]
GetDeb has released a .deb:
Cool. Maybe the version shipped in Feisty is just too old... ?
Yes me, did you try what I suggested?
Pretty much the same problem I had on page 2 of this subject.
I couldn't give better advice than grabbing this:
In your ./conky there is:
You can choose any font that you like. What I do is open Ooo Writer, choose a font, and pass it to conky. But the thing is, you now use XFT engine so it...
It might be totally useless but, maybe you can try to put:
You mean you get this symbols: à ?
I installed the latest beta release of Hddtemp. It works perfectly.
If anyone hits this problem again:
Oh I'm a idiot. Of course it works, it my hda temp, not my sda !!
Hum.. so it doesn't work. I'll keep searching.
Okay, I've activated the S.M.A.R.T. function in my bios. But my disk is still at sleep :)
But actually, that confirmed what I thought. What I read about SMART capabilities, is that it was...
I have two disks: hda and sda. And I just moved from Edgy to Feisty.
Here is the stuff:
root@superdupont:~# nc localhost 7634
|/dev/hda|Maxtor 6Y080L0|34|C||/dev/sda|Maxtor 6B300S0 ...
Submit this issue on IRC: #linuxdcpp on freenode channel. It will be easier to sort out the pb for the developers.
Many hublist are down. Try that one:
Hdd temp on Conky is one of the harder thing to put up for a beginner. Great "how to" thanks.
