I had the same problem, I solved it copying all the libs and the links to the libs that you find in the main folder of Synapse to:

usr/lib

you need admin privileges to do it, so run

sudo...

like many others 9.04 didn't put any NVIDIA drivers on my Restricted hardware panel and also in Synaptic.
It seems that some mobile chips aren't listed as compatible although they are.
