    [ubuntu] LiveUSB - Updating

Is there any way to update a LiveUSB and have it stay updated? yet still 'live'

    IE, create usb from 10.10.
    Boot off USB, - update,
    reboot, updates still applied?
  3. [ubuntu] Re: Graphics Drivers + Low Resource Desktop (seperate questions)

Thanks for all your help people :)

I reckon I'll end up with XP on both boxes again soon though, just don't have the time to customise ubuntu to how I want it.

Only problem there is at the moment is very very small font on the GDM login screen
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Graphics Drivers + Low Resource Desktop (seperate questions)

    Progress!!

    OK, not really :(
I've given up on the nvidia stuff, so I found my Powercolour ATI 9800pro and put that in. (I tried forcibly removing all nv and nvidia stuff last night to no avail)

  9. [ubuntu] Re: Graphics Drivers + Low Resource Desktop (seperate questions)

    load glx is there

I originally installed it using that command ^
I've tried the two older drivers from that install menu and both didn't detect the card properly
  10. [ubuntu] Re: Graphics Drivers + Low Resource Desktop (seperate questions)

Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
Error: couldn't find RGB GLX Visual

    (via terminal while in desktop)
  11. [ubuntu] Re: Graphics Drivers + Low Resource Desktop (seperate questions)

    checked again
No splash screen, the login screen is in 640x480 :(, goes to 1024 for the desktop

I'll try the minimal install on the other box tomorrow as I need it to write this ;)
  12. [ubuntu] Re: Graphics Drivers + Low Resource Desktop (seperate questions)

Ok, that file says driver is nv; that's the base 2d driver isn't it?
  13. [ubuntu] Graphics Drivers + Low Resource Desktop (seperate questions)

Its been at least 2 years since I last touched a *nix box (Slackware 8 I think it was), and I've just installed Ubuntu 8.04 to two boxes.

    Here's my questions;

    1st box:
    Shuttle SN45G (nForce2...
