Hi,
First: What do I mean by "Circular Scrolling"?
On the touchpad of my laptop (Acer aspire 8935G, already over 3 years in age), you can start scrolling using its right edge - nothing new here -...
try launchpad
Hi,
I wanted to share a cd/dvd drive over my network but couldn't pull the trick off by enabling the share option in its properties dialog, I then started digging a little deeper and as I couldn't...
I use lastpass (cross platform) cause it works with firefox and chrome and integrates pretty well, maybe that's an alternative.
thanks, I wasn't sure that it should be metacity :)
Hi
I want to report a bug, but I don't know where to report it. (Metacity, compiz,...)
(I run a regular up to date version of Ubuntu in Ubuntu classic mode)
The problem: Window corners are...
Hi
I use Ubuntu 11.04 in the Ubuntu Classic session mode because I hate Unity.
Unity is build to be used with the global/app menu which I dislike because my screen is big enough not to maximize...
Hi,
The 'previous', 'play/pause', 'next' don't use the icons as in the icon theme you use (unlike the panflute applet, which is also visible in the screenshot). There can not be a good reason for...
thank you very much ;)
Hi,
I'm learning how to use header files. Using code::blocks, I made a working example, but when I tried passing a parameter it stopped working and I don't understand why.

Then I'm afraid I know as much as you do, sorry :(.
it looks like you're using another iconset, I tried that, but I still got the normal login screen (after switching users, maybe I needed to end the session, but I'm not gonna try that out right now)
areteichi is right I believe, I uninstalled evolution and those entries don't show up in my messaging menu ;)
However I'd better remove the menu since I don't use it (though I keep hoping...
Isn't it because you use 'switch user' instead of 'log off'? That would explain why you're not logged off.

I always remove old kernels through synaptic (system > admin > synaptic package management): search for "linux-image" (you'll like to sort the list by installed software) and delete the oldest...
Here you can find themes for Metacity (= default window manager in ubuntu; it takes care of the borders of your windows and other stuff).
If you want a really shiny desktop: start learning about...
bctb107, the thread is almost 2 years old, the chance of this person not having reinstalled ubuntu or at least having removed it are zero.
There is no point in trying to solve this problem anymore.
run palimpsest
(or 'system' > 'admin' > something like 'disk utilities' (I have a translated version so I don't know it's English name))
I installed the lxde environment, which uses openbox and pcmanfm (= lubuntu?). Plus it already has a panel, however I don't like the lxpanel very much (in it's default layout). I'll try some tweaking...
I apologize, glad you found a solution to your problem anyway.
you're welcome, but may I ask you to mark the thread as solved?
easiest way: system > preferences > appearance: choose a theme like clearlooks, it has the buttons aligned on the right side.
Edit:
The hard way was to enter "ubuntu buttons right" into google...
@ trinitydan: thanks for the info, I might check crunchbang out someday, but not for now.
@kerry_s: I agree that memory shouldn't be wasted, I just found it very curious that just after starting a...
Have you tried using alacarte?
edit:
I just added a new menu entry using alacarte and chose a png file as icon, so it clearly isn't because png wouldn't be supported or something like that.
