[SOLVED] Re: adobe flash freezing on settings prompt

I had the same problem, but solved it by removing the whole .macromedia folder in my home folder. This removes all local settings so if you need them somehow this is a bad fix. Worked for me, though.

[ubuntu] Re: Where to configure mail key

Have you set Evolution as your default mail application? Look for Preferred Applications in the system settings (or something similar - using Swedish language version myself).

    Hi,

You've tried Tracker I presume? I'm not all that happy with it, but it does what it's supposed to.

    Post your favorite bash aliases!

    Hi,

As you might know, you can make your own "commands" in the terminal by adding aliases in a file called .bash_aliases in your home directory.

You can add more or less useful stuff as bash...

[ubuntu] Re: Intel HD i915 only 16-bit color depth?

    Interesting,

Will check if this applies to my setup as well. I also don't think it's a color space problem, since external displays work just fine. Something else is at play. Seem to remember a...

    Thanks,

with the new changes in the xorg.conf, I get this, which is the same as before:

[ubuntu] Re: Intel HD i915 only 16-bit color depth?

    Thanks,

The second line at the top says:

    [ 7800.356] (==) intel(0): Depth 24, (--) framebuffer bpp 32

so it's hard to know what applies.

[ubuntu] Re: Intel HD i915 only 16-bit color depth?

Here is a screenshot that might work better to illustrate the problem - check the tonality in the Lightning event, it is meant to be supersmooth, but not here.

EDIT: aha, I checked the screenshot...

[ubuntu] Re: Intel HD i915 only 16-bit color depth?

    Fair enough,

the screenshot is actually not very illustrative - a better example are the menus and the tones in them. They are "jagged" and not smooth. Svg images with tonality as well.
