I opened a terminal and typed: groups. And the output was:

Yes i have tried to play the dvd since installing the codecs but all i get is the error message

Do i have to log in as sudo? I am running Xubuntu 8.10

When i insert a DVD into the drive Totem Movie Player opens and then the following error message appears:

An error occurred
Could not open location; you might not
have permission to open the...

How do i set permissions for the media directory and check that i have DVD codecs installed on my pc. Thanks

I already have a Logitech webcam but i'm fed up with the head phone and cables. So i've been looking at the Logitech C600 with it's built-in microphone etc. So, could i ask if anyone has used this...

When watching online movies the picture is so dark. I've tried everything that i know (which isn't much) but i can't lighten the picture. Anyone have a clue what to do please. Thanks

The computer is about two year old

Have just installed the latest version of Ubuntu on a spare computer and everything is working fine. But when i clicked on "log-off" and then selected "shut-down" the computer is still running?
