yea i did i hit the "fn" key plus f2 which its alternate function is to enable wireless and the light will not come on.

I am running ubuntu dapper drake and i cant seem to get the wireless to work even following these steps.. i go to install ndiswrapper and it doesnt complete.. I am completely new at any linux...
