Good you have some ram lying around but not all ram is created equal and not all ram works with all machines, you may well have to budget for diffrent ram depending on you proposed...

You might consider the addition of the Mozilla Firefox addon RequestPolicy, as it shows requests for access to other sites. Works in the same general fashion as NowScript in so far as a bit...
