    Hold F8 when the computer starts. The GRUB bootloader prompt should appear. Press e. It should open an editor. There should be a line starting with "linux". add "nomodeset" to the end of the line....

    Assuming onLoad is something in JavaScript, the onLoad functions will not be executed when using wget.

    wget only downloads the HTML file - it doesn't run any javascript or render the file like in...

    Many things work automatically in Ubuntu unlike in Windows where you need to install drivers. Drivers for windows will not work on ubuntu.

    i7 is an 64-bit processor - you should install 64 bit Ubuntu for best performance.
    AMD 64 is a standard for 64-bit processors.

    Try going to /media/xxx.
    You should see your cd's files there.

    In K3b, press "more options" and go to Rip * disc or go to tools>Rip * disc
