I do. Uses the ATH9k driver. No matter the version of driver I try, pulling a large file and running ping reveals dropped packets. I've got a USB 802.11N network card until the driver stabilizes.

There is no driver in any repository in any package that will solve the OPs problem. The issue exists with the Nvidia driver itself. Until release 196.x is out, the custom EDID route is the only way...

I have a similar sony cw laptop with the 330M GPU.

You'll need to pull your EDID while in windows. EDID data describes the capability of your LCD screen. Problem with the current NVIDIA drivers...

Hand changes to xorg.conf are in fact immediately reflected, at least with the new driver. Many xserver kills and restarts confirm this "feature" ;)
