  1. [ubuntu] Re: How to have two matching ubuntu installations with the same set of installed pack

Very easy to do. One way is to partition your drive and install second Ubuntu(or any OS) and set it up any way you choose. Can also copy any data from one Ubuntu to the other, so they both match. ...

[ubuntu] Re: Unable to boot from USB

I have a Dell laptop. When trying to install, I had same problem. With some googling, found that I had to enable booting from a USB in bios/UEFI. Most other laptops, just had to plug in USB/DVD...

Would also check and make that Firefox's DRM content setting is still checked/enabled.
  5. [ubuntu] Re: Will the 21.04 nightlies and alphas/betas update to final?

Why not install 20.04? It is supported for 4 more years, 21.04 is only supported for 9 months before needing to upgrade.

Re: Will Unity be offered as a flavor?

A flavour is an ISO for install that has a specific desktop and programs, you can't update to a flavour. You can only install desktop and/or programs from a flavour to your system.

Re: Will Unity be offered as a flavor?

Think unity remix is more of a separate related distro, compared to the action of just installing unity desktop. Remix might require downloading ISO and installing to drive.

Re: Will Unity be offered as a flavor?

Do not think you can 'update' to a different flavour, gnome to Kubuntu. Can install a desktop, did clean install of 18.04, stuff was broken in gnome, fixed everything by installing unity desktop and...

    Re: Install Ubuntu Desktop

If you can at least double the ram, then Lubuntu 18.04 should run if you take it easy(might be already out of support). If out of support, will need to try Puppy, Tiny, or Dam small Linux or google...

Re: Create a Full Install USB of Windows 10?

Think you can only make a bootable Windows USB from Linux with either mkusb or woeusb, do not think any other ways will work for windows. If computer came with Win 10, can replace with same version....
  13. [SOLVED] Re: Running SMART test on failing drive made it not failing anymore??

  14. [ubuntu] Re: Should I enable UEFI Secure Boot before changing hardware?

Have read that secure boot does funny things with stuff like updating Nvidia's drivers, so would recommend disable secure boot. I have installed Windows after Ubuntu in UEFI once and did not have...

  19. [ubuntu] Re: What's the best Ubuntu Video movie player?

  21. Re: Two Ubuntu installations on a same hard disk?

Most OSs will be quite happy to share a hard drive. As long as each has enough space, you can have almost any mix of Linux, Windows and/or Mac OSs you want.
