    You can specify the port number

    or a folder...

    Try kdenlive. http://www.kdenlive.org/ (also in the repos.)
    I ran it on ubuntu jaunty without problem. I had only 1 crash out of 20-25 use. And when i say use i means 6-8 hrs of strait editing.

    Simply create the user on your system.

    Option 1:
    USing the GUI: System -> user and group -> Create new user.
    Make sure the 'bin' is set to false.
    Make also sure they have an alias...

    It took me a while because all seems fine, so the only things that comes to my mind would be your permision.
    if proftpd (or the user using the ftp) dosen't have proper permision, the system kick him...
