  1. [ubuntu] Re: Rhythmbox error when attempting to extract a cd in MP3 format

I had problems using rhythmbox to rip CDs to mp3, and ended up trying the commandline ripping script "abcde". It did a good job, and is configurable.
It was in the standard 12.04 Ubuntu repository....

I had a similar error, and ended up running a thing called k3bsetup which gets installed with k3b. A dialogue appears; you select what it recommends for the dvd drive and the programs. You are asked...

  9. [SOLVED] Re: Which tools for debugging MP3 problems?

I used LAME to convert the mp3s to CBR 128 kbit simple stereo, and that seemed to fix it. I still don't really understand what the problem was, but the workaround is good enough!

[ubuntu] Re: What version to install

12.04 is an "LTS" edition, which means it will get long-term support for 5 years. If you are just trying it out of curiosity, this is probably of no concern to you.
  15. [SOLVED] Re: can anyone help with this system pop up?
