[SOLVED] Re: Is it safe to remove these files?

This is one good reason for using the terminal or synaptic when carrying out these operations in my opinion; you get good warnings about everything that is going to happen before it happens so can...

Perhaps there are two partitions on the usb disk.
With it plugged in run command sudo parted -l and copy the output back here using code tags. See my signature below for a how-to for using code tags.

  8. [ubuntu] Re: i've tried to remove skype with no success

    Try
    sudo apt purge skypeforlinux
This assumes you did install it as a .deb package and not as a snap, so show us what you get from command
snap list and if that shows a skype snap is installed...

  14. Re: Ubuntu keeps asking for WiFi password, never connects

You don't mention which security settings you have on the router; WEP, WPA, WPA2?

Let us know that, as it should be WPA2, assuming it's available.

    [ubuntu] Re: Stop update checking

You're probably right, unless you want some snap applications, eg chromium, spotify and probably others that are available only as snaps.

Personally I'm still on the fence about snaps as there...
