  1. Re: Emulator Nintendo 64 ? Which one runs fast ?

I think I use the ricevideo plugin for most games. I haven't experimented that much yet. It would be great if there were a database or something where people could keep track of which combination...
  2. Re: Emulator Nintendo 64 ? Which one runs fast ?

Mupen64 runs fairly well on my AMD64 3200+ machine.

It runs Zelda Ocarina of Time Master Quest nearly perfectly. Paper Mario pretty well. Has trouble with Tony Hawk's, though I haven't tried...
  3. Re: new HOWTO: MythTV with Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy), with Hauppauge PVR-150

mythtv-setup is the setup program for the backend (where the capture card and related info is kept, and which connects to the database).

run the program (type mythtv-setup at the command line),...

OK, I think you're close. Mythtv is a bit finicky...

So I thought your last mythfilldatabase looked a little strange.

Did you sign up for zap2it?

Try this. Shut down mythfrontend and...
  5. Re: new HOWTO: MythTV with Ubuntu 5.10 (Breezy), with Hauppauge PVR-150

    Yes, you're probably getting close!

OK, so it looks like you've got a backend already running. The ps command shows running processes. The "| grep mythbackend" part says send the output of ps...

Re: Help - I messed up my gamepad!

That's very similar to my situation.

jscalibrator seems to break things. I'll have to try your little black magic and see if that works.

    Thanks,

Re: Help - I messed up my gamepad!

    Hi Leech,

Thanks. When I said jsconfigurator, I meant jscalibrator.

So this is strange. I was getting nothing on jscalibrator. I tried everything I could think of. I thought maybe the game...

    Hi all,

Well I did something to mess up my Saitek p2900 game.

Re: HOWTO: Kernel Compilation for Newbies

Very interesting. Let me make sure I understand you correctly. I'm fairly novice at kernel building and all, so I'm groping a bit.

Re: HOWTO: Kernel Compilation for Newbies

Yeah, everything else seems fine. And I'm only mildly suspicious of the kernel build process as a factor in my ivtv problem. But thought I'd verify my assumptions. All things being equal, I agree...

Re: HOWTO: Kernel Compilation for Newbies

    Hi,

I've gotten myself somewhat messed up.

I wanted to install a 2.6.15 series kernel. I've always run stock ubuntu kernels before, and I'm not 100% sure what "extra" stuff ubuntu patches...

Well I think I'll probably start a new thread if I get any more interest in the topic. I don't have much to share yet, except that I did get confirmation from Matt Zimmerman - former Ubuntu MythTV...

Thanks very much for this awesome guide.

Apologies in advance for what turned out to be a longish post. And for any "hijacking", but this seems like a great gathering place for Ubuntu MythTVers. ...
