Re: Why Linux Users Hate Windows

I don't think any configuration is needed just to work on the OS. I do think the plain Ubuntu/Kubuntu should come with certain things (e.g. flash primarely actually) installed, and that a separate...

Because the devil uses Windows. You don't want to go to hell now do you? This is where you will end up if you pay for microsoft products:

On second thought, that would give you your located with reference to the access points, but you still wouldn't really know where you are with reference to a geographic map. So something else is...

[all variants] Re: Wifi Positioning System? (WPS?)

I don't think it relies on a database with locations of the access points, that would make it less effective and constrain it to known public locations. The company that does this already makes it...

Poll: Re: Plymouth actually working for anyone?

Doesn't work on mine at all, Kubuntu 10.4, ATI 4570, open-source drivers. Isn't it getting late for this? Will they manage to fix this within three weeks and also finish their other work?

Now your OpenOffice splash screen has a huge ORACLE logo on it, heh. I guess they requested it to be done asap.

    Re: Ambitious April Screenshots 2010

The nerd in me always tells me to try out BSD, but my intelligence keeps me from trying it. Development of BSD is way slower than Linux, and it has even less support than Linux does.

    Re: Will this forum upgrade?

What I'm actually wondering is why all these so called 'open-source supporting' sites are running Vbulletin, instead of SMF/phpBB (real FLOSS), and can still claim to be such open-source activists.

Umm, I'm not sure about this. While the KDE network manager does have its issues, the very purpose of these fronts ends (which is what they are), is to only make your settings of the actual network...
