    Sounds like you are booting from sda and not sdc. Go into bios and make sure the hard drive that is designated as sdc is the first boot drive.

    look to see if you have "startup manager" installed, if not go to your package manager and get it. You can change the time the start menu is displayed from there and also set other things up.
