AHCI is a simple radio button in the Hard drive settings in the BIOS. If your computer's BIOS doesn't show this option then its ok, don't worry about it. AHCI is supposed to help SSDs perform better....

I am currently using a Samsung 840 Pro. I've installed using AHCI in the BIOS settings and I've enabled the Self-encrypting drive option.
