Re: Chromium Likely to Replace Firefox
I does appear that in the recent weeks Chromium has been up dated to 28.0.* in the Ubuntu Software Center. Also, I've noticed a PPA:for Ubuntu Mozilla Security Team with a Chromium build actively being developed by Chris Coulson.

. Clearly, some work toward a decision is being considered?
Re: Chromium Likely to Replace Firefox
I can't remember, is Firefox open-source? If not, then that's all the more reason to opt for Chromium. Or maybe Canonical could pull a Google and use Chromium as a base for Ubuntu's own browser, say Ubuntu Chrome, so that more Ubuntu-exclusive additions can be implemented than if it were standard Chromium.
Just a thought.
