stream video (browser) running on headless system
A unique proposition. I have a need for a headless system to automatically start an X session, then run the Firefox browser so that I can capture audio/video and stream it to a device or a file.
First of all, is this possible, or will I have to have some display running (whether it be local or over VNC/NX) in order to capture the video/audio?
Second, is it possible to do this without a video card installed at all? (The device I need to stream to is a broadcast industry ASI output card.)
I've searched and looked at a lot of the options in these forums and others regarding setting up a headless system and then starting X remotely, but I can't get to a point where X continues to run when not logged in.
I know this is a very broad question, and definitely not a standard problem, but at this stage any insight will be greatly appreciated.
