Kilz, can you post that conky config? It's very pretty! Thanks :)
Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64
Hi,
First, thank you for this great how to!
Unfortunately i encountered a problem while trying to save files with firefox32.
I get an error message that says that the directory could not be opened. VFS error: invalid parameter. It looks like it can't access the directory tree. This happens only if i choose "save as" when trying to download a file. The error does not show up when i use firefox 64 bit. I can also access the directory tree outside firefox with no problems.
Thanks in advance!
Lepido

If you're referring to my case, it was as follows:
Start: No Flash on SouthparkStudios full episode secion.
Middle: Disabled all extensions, including Adblock, nothing happens.
End: Re-installed r48, nothing happens, disabled Adblock again on a whim, voila! I can see the episodes.

No sorry, I was referring to Kilz config for conky, which you can see in the screenshot he posted.

Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64
Kilz,
I've used your script (thanks) successfully several times in the past but didn't take notes when I upgraded. Now that firefox 2.0.0.13 is available, I've lost java. I tried several times to run your scripts but had to revert back to 2.0.0.12,
I know enough to change the script commands to the current java version (05) but couldn't get it to work Am I missing something or do you have instructions on how to update a newer version of firefox when it comes out? Will your scripts only work with a version you have tweaked? I've locked version 12 for now so that an auto update doesn't kill my java.
Again thanks for the great work you have done for all of us.
Added: Simply locking firefox32 in synaptic didn't work. ff32 kept downloading pieces of the upgrade each time I started it until it had the complete download and then automatically upgraded to ff32 2.0.0.13 I had to go to Edit, Prefs, Advance and untick the 'check for upgrades' box.
Added: Kilz corrected me in a later post - ff32 doesn't automatically update. He was correct in determining my auto-update was with swiftweasel.
Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64
yeah, the new swiftweasel 2.0.0.13 certainly made things a mess. around 50% of my webpages no turn out blank. the title of the page is displayed at the top, the rest is blank :(
Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64
I'm a noob having trouble installing ia32-lib on a new machine running 7.10. I think the ia32-lib is required for flashplayer? Following posts I ran several attempts to download libraries in termial:
eric@eric-desktop:/$ sudo apt-get install lib32gcc1
[sudo] password for eric:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
Package lib32gcc1 is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package lib32gcc1 has no installation candidate
eric@eric-desktop:/$ sudo apt-get install ia32-libs-dev

Package ia32-libs-dev is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or

However the following packages replace it:
ia32-libs
E: Package ia32-libs-dev has no installation candidate
eric@eric-desktop:/$ sudo apt-get install ia32-libs

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:
The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ia32-libs: Depends: lib32gcc1 but it is not installable
Depends: libc6-i386 (>= 2.3.6-2) but it is not installable
Depends: lib32z1 but it is not installable
Depends: lib32stdc++6 but it is not installable
Depends: lib32asound2 but it is not installable
Depends: lib32ncurses5 but it is not installable
E: Broken packages
I'm not sure if I have an error in my system somehow? Or I am doing something totally wrong?
Re: Howto Install 32 bit Firefox with Flash w/sound and Java for AMD64
You might have a broken package. Try this: Then try to install your package again.

Swiftweasel 2.0.0.13 was having some issues, so I purposely didnt mention it on the howto as being available. I dont make Swiftweasel packages the creator of Swiftweasel does.. The issues seem to have been resolved, you can unlock it.
What you later describe as Firefox32 cant happen, firefox32 does not automatically update. You must be describing Swiftweasel
