Unable to Add Album Details to mp3 file

So, I created a song and I want to add the Artist (Me), Album name, Track name, etc., and yet, it won't let me. Everytime I try to type something into the boxes, it doesn't allow it and doesn't save it.

I'm running Xubuntu 11.04, but I figure this COULD be and issue for others, as well.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm just using the folders. I go to "Properties", then to "Audio" and there, there are boxes of "Artist", "Album", etc.

Ohh, I see.

Those fields you're trying to edit are internal 'fields' called ID3 tags.

You'll be better off using a proper 'Id3 Tag Editor'. There are several on the Software Center including EasyTAG, and MP3 Diags.

My favorite is Kid3-qt.

However, can you edit the Album Art of an Mp3 file?

Yes. Although I don't know the limitations on size of format. I've had success with jpegs from 200x200 to 500x500.

Using kid3 you just drag a picture from a folder or the browser, and drop it on the album art field (bottom right).
