Fancontrol for ATI 4850

I know its a long shot but ...

lm-sensors recognise my radeon4850 PWM monitor, they also recognise my temperature,

I can also set the PWMcontrol for the fans on the motherboard.

so the question is... Can I implement PWM fan control on my radeon with the pwmconfig??

automatically it doesnt work, but can I add my lines in /etc/pwmconfig and force it to behave??

I have tried the low profile on my card but the fan is annoygly noisy even then and the funny thing is that temperature hardly go over 45C


I use the opensource drivers, please dont tell me to go to the evil fglxr which has given me so much pain in the past
