Remote controll sending the wrong signals?

Hi folks,
Been scouring the internet for a good long time now and tried a few things to try and get my windows media center remote to work correctly.
Basically it "works" but just not right..i press the 4 button and my pc goes into hibernate. i press the ok button and my volume goes up, and so on.

I'm not using lirc, the remote seemed to work by itself. If you want to know what card i'm using to receive the IR signals it is the following : http://www.comprousa.com/en/product/...-hardware.html
But the remote is not the one shown in the picture. it is a Windows media center remote (see image here: http://http://images.trustedreviews....2-img5112s.jpg)

any help/advice would be appreciated.
