Browser Timeouts
For the last week I've been having a problem with my browser timing out when loading a page. It's happening on all my machines, so I suspect it's the network or the ISP.
Does not happen on 'static' pages (CNN, BBC, Wx), only on those where I'm loading content (WordPress, FlashcardDB...UbuntuForums...). ForEx, I've had to submit this posting multiple times.
Is intermittent. Works about 10% of the time.
Page comes back with a "Connection closed by remote server" or "Sent no data" or similar (Chromium gave 234 error)
Happens on all my machines:
Ubuntu 10.4/ Opera, Firefox, Chromium
Ubuntu 12.4/ Opera, Firefox
WinXP / Opera, Firefox, Chrome
No config changes in last three months (except patches). Chromium installed three months ago, worked fine until now. I've seen some comments on a 234 error with Chrome/Chromium, so I pulled Chromium off my U10 machine. Didn't help. Tried clearing cache and cookies. Didn't help.
ISP (Centurylink) says DSL modem looks OK from their end.
Possibly related is erratic timeouts on sending email (not receiving). U10/Evo, U12/TBird.

Re: Browser Timeouts
Spent the evening on the phone with Centurylink. There's a good chance it's our phone lines, since everything checks out from their end.

Not so much solved as closed. Not the wiring. I've created a new thread.
