Global Menu look
Hi guys.
I would like to now, if it's possible to make the global menu to stop auto-hiding. I am looking ways to make Ubuntu 12.04 look like Mac OS X, but the only unholy mess is that this freaking global menu AUTOHIDES!
THis is my desktop:

Re: Global Menu look
Hola Miguel,
What Desktop Environment are you using?
The behavior that you describe happens only with Firefox?
I love the Global Menu approach myself too, it seems like a very clever idea to gain screen real state, and to have all the menu options on the same place of the screen all the time.
If you are using GNOME 3, the Classic one, you can use the Indicator Applet Ported To GNOME 3, Can Already Be Used In Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot Classic GNOME 3 Session, it works Ok on 12.04.

Re: Global Menu look
Sadly what you want is gnome2-globalmenu but it only works with Gnome2 and only GTK applications. It's the most accurate in mimicking the Mac Global Menu.
Unity's appmenu is close but it does not display the title of the application in the gnome panel (classic) and probably never will.
