Your [price range might be a little low for a color laser. I have an HP Laser Jet Pro MFP M277dw that works extremely well for me. I would definitely stick with an HP just because they are so easy to set up under Linux.
There are plenty of colour laser printers between 150 and 300 quid that I have been looking at .
I currently have a brother mono laser and it was tricky to set up with Linux hence I thought I would ask on here
OK......I was referring to American dollars. Not sure what the translation into quid would be. :-)
Looks like 300 quid = almost 400 American dollars. You should be able to get an HP for that amount.
look at HP, Brother and Samsung - all with good linux support.
I am not sure how well others are doing in this field.
Thanks for the info guys .. I have looked at the suggestions and I bought a hp because of the ease of Linux setup
This is my experience as well. It does take a bit of hunting to find the Samsung driver since HP's acquisition of Samsung's printer business. The Samsung ULD (Universal Linux Driver) is on HP's support site. For Brother printers I use the Brother installer and specify the connection type manually.
