Black screen on Asus ZenBook UX431FN
Hi
I'm trying to install Ubuntu 18.04.02 on my Asus ZenBook UX431FN but I've many problem to solve a black screen issue.
to install Ubuntu i've to add nomodeset option to grub, in this way I can start the install of s.o.
then I've installed the Nvidia driver for the MX150 graphic card with the command ubuntu-drivers install
everything seems to be going well but when I reboot i'me stuk in a completely black screen and also pressing alt+f2 to swith to another tty the screen still black
so adding again the nomodeset option i can login to the terminal, get the ip address so i can login via ssh
here some infos:

Re: Black screen on Asus ZenBook UX431FN
I'm facing the same issue, have you made any progress?
Re: Black screen on Asus ZenBook UX431FN
It's a problem with edid version 2.4 (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...r/+bug/1821533).
Mine worked with "nomodeset", but you can plug it to an hdmi monitor as well (it works).
Here is the workaround:
1. download 1920x1080.bin from here (https://github.com/akatrevorjay/edid.../1920x1080.bin)
2. move it to /lib/firmware/edid/
3. edit /etc/default/grub and add this GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="drm.edid_firmware=eDP-1:edid/1920x1080.bin"
4. run sudo update-grub
5. restart the computer
