Hotot: Lightweight Twitter Client
Has anyone tried the new Hotot? It's a Twitter client; lightweight and has extensions for future extensibilities. It's still new though, but I believe it has the potential to become better as it matures.
First read about it from WebUpd8. Decided to try it out since there's no other Twitter client that can satisfy me (well, apart from TwitterGadget, that is). Also, one of my Twitter friends have tried it himself and I too agree with him (about the future of it).
Here is a screenshot of how the interface looks like:

Installing:
Code:
sudo apt-get install python-webkit python-notify python-keybinder mercurial python-distutils-extra
Code:
hg clone https://hotot.googlecode.com/hg/ hotot
Code:
python ./hotot/hotot.py
UPDATE: There's a PPA for Hotot: https://launchpad.net/~jimmyxu/+archive/hotot/ (Thanks, FuturePilot!). You can also try to install from it. It still is the same version.
If any of you are trying this out, give a shout out here! :)

Re: Hotot: Lightweight Twitter Client
Seems that my assumption is correct. Hotot just updated its repos to include version 0.9.9.
Since I've last launched Hotot about a week and a half ago, I'd reckon that more changes that would be done soon to make it a competitive client compared to the rest. With this update, I can safely say that it has already reached there sooner than I've expected!
Well, apart from the Facebook integration, Hotot has become one of the apps to watch this year, I'd reckon. Just need to iron out a little more quirks here and there, and it would be perfect!

Re: Hotot: Lightweight Twitter Client
I think it's a brilliant app with a lot of promise!
A few concerns:
-No real use of notifications using actual posts. It'll tell you posts are there, but I'll admit that I'm spoiled and really enjoy it when I can see my friends' status updates pop up and fade out.
-No messaging menu integration as far as I can tell.
-No identi.ca support. :(
But aside from that, the design, amount of polish, and general responsiveness are astounding.
