Which SoundCard Should i get ?
i need a sound card that supports hardware mixing, but i need it to work in Ubuntu & XP also id like a TOS-Link on it.
Needs to be 100% Ubuntu & XP Working ! (out of the box)
i need the hardware mixing for Virtual box because at this time i can only have sound from Host or Guest OS
TOS-Link is optional really

Re: Which SoundCard Should i get ?
quite old now but the Trust Sound Expert Optical 514DX 5.1
has optical out and is cmedia based-just worked with ubuntu since 6.06lts quite cheap now
you would need to further check spec as tos link yes, hardware mixing i'm not sure

Also, you could check into Turtle Beach cards. VERY good production card and there may be a model that meets your specifications. They do not write their own driver set up for Linux, but they furnish web space to outside developers, unlike other card makers, thee acknowledge the existence of Linux and the need for co-operation.

but if i cant find one i will go with the Trust looks really good.
Ive posted on the visualization forum asking if i could use 2 sound cards but i dont think that will work
