hmmm, well its already about a month ago that I set this up, but I will try to find the place from where I took the instructions for it, wait a few minutes
UPDATE: here it is:
http://webent.altervista.org/2012/08...-ubuntu-12-04/
Though you can leave out this repository: ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/x-updates - it doesn't seem to be required

Ah, There's some extra steps in this guide compared to what I tried - thanks a bunch for the info :)
@wonghang - this might be the way for you to get all things working (newer xorg/intel, and bumblebee).

Wow, it works :)
However speed is nothing to brag about:

yep, I told you so.. It just uses huge amounts of power (10 Watts extra) but performance wise it doesn't improve that much compared to the intel graphics
update: you seem to get much better performance than I do, but maybe the reason is that I'm currently running with 2 extra monitors connected, total 3 monitors, aranged in 2 rows and 2 columns, therefore 4k virtual desktop size.

But now it works, so I guess that will prove useful someday - thanks for your time, and maybe @wonghang will be able to work on CUDA now :)

Thank you very much for your help. I will stay and wait for latest driver release.
However, I also discovered that if I run
gfxpayload=text
when booting the kernel. I will get blank screen even if I used fbdev for my xserver. Just an information :P

sorry...how do you measure the power consumption? there is a command / tool on linux for that?

I got bumblebee working by using latest nvidia driver
Code:
NVRM: loading NVIDIA UNIX x86 Kernel Module 304.51 Tue Sep 18 17:36:24 PDT 2012
But xorg/intel failure suddenly two days ago.

Re: Asus Zenbook Prime UX31A and UX32VD
Hello!
I just received my Zenbook UX32A and wanted to ask if anyone replaced the standard drive with an ssd.
I'm considering either use the internal 24G ssd as the / install point for Ubuntu then the standard drive to be mounted as /home or replace the drive with a ssd.
If I do replace the drive with a ssd, could I use the internal ssd for the same purpouse windows does? (which I believe is just so you can sleep/wake up real quick).
Cheers
