steam problem
Hello this is my first post
I'm trying to install a war Thunder game in steam and it got 50% installed and then stopped with the message disc write error, then I started over and only get to 3% and same error.
I'm installing it to a external drive not enough room on root drive.
running ubunto
any help would be appreciated

Re: steam problem
By "root" do you mean the user area? Why are you logging into root? Could you attempt this with your actual username account on the system please? And see if it still has an issue, root tends to automatically have limited amount of space whereas the actual home user account don't.

Re: steam problem
Steam games are located in the /home folder, in the hidden file .steam.
Never, ever install anything except programs in /. It's just for system files and programs. Steam itself is installed in the root folder, but everything else goes in the /home folder, which is the ONLY directory that the user has complete read/write access. Your /home folder is for pictures, music, downloads, etc. It's always larger than the root folder.

Re: steam problem
also, the location where you install your game in steam which should be shown right before you download (it actually tells you where its "library" or install location is) how much space left you got ?
