On cold boot all settings lost
After a clean install (onto SSD) a week ago, at each morning's cold boot, all the settings are gone. The panel icons have a size of default, even though I make icons 36. The clock has no day/date, even though using Tweak, it has been configged that way. Gedit and Terminal, added to panel favorites the previous day are gone.
I did a standard install. I did set partition sizes: 20 gig for / and 230 for /home -- some swap, too.
Honest, I don't know how to ask the question. Is there a fix?
Re: On cold boot all settings lost
I can see where that might be frustrating. Never experienced a problem like that.
It it happened to me, I think I would check all of the cable connections; see if BIOS needs to be updated; exchange the SSD with a spare (if available); and maybe, check out the onboard button cell battery; reinstall the operating system from scratch; avoid using Tweaks to set common settings as it adds another layer.
It could be a configuration issue.
Maybe someone else has a better idea.

I hope someone else does have a better idea. None of your suggestions have had the least effect.

It sounds like you're logging in as guest. Mounting /home read only would have the same effect.
