Macbook Pro 4,1 touchpad not working after sleep

Hello Forum!

I have a Macbook Pro 4,1 running Ubuntu 10.04 LTS and I believe everything is working except the trackpad after waking from sleep.

I've done some searching for this problem, and see that if I log out, the trackpad will work again. I'd rather not need to log out every time.

I have downloaded the bcm5974-dkms from here:

I have extracted the file (it lives in my 'downloads' folder), and I'm not sure how to continue with installation. I'm not sure this will fix the problem, but I would like to try.
