Left mouse click going on by itself
Hello,
I have a strange problem that I hope someone can please help me with.
I installed Ubuntu 11.04 from the Live CD on my Asus N61J laptop. I have a Logitech optical mouse plugged into the USB port (tried USB 3.0 and 2.0).
The issue that I have is that sometimes the left click gets set even though I am not touching the mouse. Left clicking on my mouse won't unclick it, but the right click works just fine. To get out of this left click I have to left click using my touchpad on the laptop itself. After that I can normally left click again with the mouse, until the problem happens again.
I doubt that this is hardware based: this problem does not occur when I run Windows 7.
As anyone encountered this issue please?
Thank you very much.

De-active your laptop's touch pad when using the mouse.
I found the mouse activated when my other hand hovered over or near the touch pad.

Thanks tolf242, that is a good idea. I just installed "Touchpad indicator" and have it disable my touchpad when the mouse is connected.
I will update when I found out if that was the problem or not. Thanks for the tip!

Your welcome & I hope it works for you.
I had to do the same sort of thing myself.
Yes, please let me know how you get on.
Regards Tolf.

Hey tolf242,
So far it looks good. I think that deactivating the touchpad might have fixed it. I really didn't think I was hitting the touchpad but that is a good catch.
Thanks a lot!
