Advice on graphics card please.
Hi, I have a fairly old PC. Motherboard is a Foxconn N15235. Intel processor single core, I have 2 gb RAM. The current graphics are on board so I'm looking at fitting a graphics card into the PCI Xpress (16x) slot. I'm not going to be doing anything too heavy, just something like a flight simulator as found in the Ubuntu repository. O/S is 12.04LTS. I don't have a lot of money so any advice would be wonderful!
Thanking you all,
Toni.

What's your budget?
Anyway stick to nVidia based GPUs but read this http://wiki.flightgear.org/Hardware_...dations#NVIDIA
Re: Advice on graphics card please.
Depending on the processor, it might actually bog-down the graphics card. Which Intel processor is it?
Re: Advice on graphics card please.
what's your budget? definitely anything nvidia
Re: Advice on graphics card please.
Hi, thanks for the replys. My processor is an Intel Celeron D CPU 3.20 GHz. It's cache size is 512kb. Hope this helps.
Thanks,
Toni.
Re: Advice on graphics card please.
The new GeForce 750ti (~$150) uses half the power of the 650ti (draws all its power from the slot), and is twice as fast. It's on my next-to-buy list.
Re: Advice on graphics card please.
With such a semi-old CPU I don't think it pays go add the newest of graphics cards. A used Nvidia some years old will do fine.
Re: Advice on graphics card please.
Yea, that CPU is way outdated. Best to get a new gamer PC...with Nvidia.
